Selecting and Storing Apples
Selection When selecting apples always check for firmness, soft spot, bruises and wrinkled skin. Press your fingers firmly against the apple making sure there are no dents.
Storing the apples in the crisper is the best place to keep them fresh. Leave the apples in a plastic bag, as apples release a gas know as ethylene, with makes other fruits annd vegetables ripein earlier then expected. Apples can also absorb sents and tastes from other produce near by. Best to keep them stored in a plastic bag.
